THE TWO RICKS
2023-2024
These two canvases, a diptych called “The Two Ricks” are the most time consuming canvases I’ve ever worked on.
My intention was to focus on an excessive amount of bling and I chose two of the most iconic combinations of blings, one is Rick Ross’s and the other one Slick Rick’s.
I was also super inspired by TASCHEN’s Ice Cold. A Hip-Hop Jewelry History book and the Neapolitan gangster house interiors I saw in the TV show Gomorrah, where each surface was covered in animal print, fake gold, Versace logos.
